Eduroam configuration guide (English)

Configure eduroam on a laptop:

Available for Windows, Apple OS X, Linux, and Chrome OS.

1. Access https://cat.eduroam.org and click on eduroam user: download your eduroam installer. Select Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. 
   
2. Select Download your eduraom installer <S.O.> to download the file.
   If the page does not detect the version of your Operating System, go to Torna a Descàrregues and select your Operating System from the list.
3. Double click the file you downloaded to start the setup accepting all the default options.
   

Depending on the version of your operating system, you may have to fill in your personal information.

• Linux: Remember that to run this file from Linux, you need to grant it execution permissions.. (P ex. chmod 755 name_file replace with the name of the downloaded file).
• ⚠️ Important note: Currently on the latest version of 'Ubuntu "26.04 LTS", The eduroam installer (eduroam CAT) may not work correctly or may not allow the configuration to be completed. In such cases, the installation must be performed by following the steps below.:
  1 - Download the installer from: https://cat.eduroam.org
  2 - Grant execution permissions to the downloaded file.: chmod 755 nom_fitxer
  3 - Run the file to start the installation process..
  4 - Once the installation is complete, run the following command to configure the certificate.: sudo nmcli connection modify eduroam 802-1x.ca-cert /etc/ssl/certs/Go_Daddy_Root_Certificate_Authority_-_G2.pem
• 5 - Restart the network service: ** sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.

Configure eduroam on a mobile device:

1- Android 11 and up:

Install the geteduroam  app available at Google Play and Amazon Appstore. Select the UPC institution profile and provide your UPC user name and password. You must be physically located on the UPC premises to connect to this network.

You must keep the app installed in order to be able to connect to eduroam.

2- IOS

Just connect to  https://cat.eduroam.org with your Safari browser and install the UPC IOS profile.

Additionally you can install the geteduroam  app from the Apple Store https://www.geteduroam.app/

Once you have done that, and you are physically located on the UPC premises, open the app and provide your UPC user name and password.

You must keep the app installed in order to be able to connect to eduroam.
